Utah Water Saver Program

Utahns that live in qualifying areas can receive a rebate of up to $3 a square foot for replacing their grass with zero-scape or artificial turf. Learn more about Utah’s Water Savers program. How does the program work?

1. Understand if you live in a qualified area. These rebates are not available statewide. While there are plans to make them available everywhere for now, please see the available locations here.

2. How do you qualify? Some districts are offering up to $3 per square foot but there are some qualifying conditions. Here are a few of the qualifying conditions.

No lawn on parking strips or areas less than eight feet in width in new residential development.

No more than 50% of front and side yard landscaped area in new residential developments is lawn. Lawn limitations do not apply to small residential lots with less than 250 square feet of landscaped area.

In new commercial, industrial, institutional and multi-family development common area landscapes, lawn areas shall not exceed 20% of the total landscaped area, outside of active recreation areas.
